You don't have to worry about axles, they are pretty stout. Over time, you will need to worry about the rear diff eating itself alive. I run 275/54R17 Hoosier drag radials that hooked very well when I was still supercharged and running 12.0's. I spin them on the 1-2 shift now if the track is cold or poorly prepped.
