Re: SRT Experience
I attended the one recently at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. All SRT vehicles are used although not in each event. There were four activities in addition to the classroom instruction and lunch: 1/8 mile timed drag strip, accelerate/turn/stop course, autocross (not timed), and road course track. No NASCAR oval time.
The instructors are from Skip Barber Racing and they are very good. There are a few Chrysler employees present as well. I have been to other track days and this was a good one. I have done quite a bit of autocross in a MINI Cooper so I was familiar with that layout. The Crossfire does very well there and keeps up with the big cars on the track, except the Viper. Of course the Viper is the hardest to drive well, lots of power and no electronic aids to help you keep it on line. It was the only car that was spun off into the dirt a few times.
I think you will enjoy it. It's not as hard core as some track days, as the level of experience of the attendees is varied, but the instructors find our quickly what people can do.
