I have another set of cutout covers that I'm drilling 3/4" holes in to hopefully achieve a louder sound I can use for a couple days without getting arrested. I'll remove the covers completely at the 1/2 mile event.

Only selectivly. As Steve said I can open or close them in abount 2 seconds. Usually don't keep them open long as nobody would run with me. The group I run with tolorates it except for Nick who hates the noise. I try to stay as close to him as possible
