Tranny Cooler - this raised an interesting point - I was wondering if anyone doing a) 1/4mile b) track racing, has noted how hot their tranny gets?
What's the OEM spec MAX temp anyway?
I'm guessing if its an issue - then even more so if you wack on a pulley++ and up the 350bhp to 400-450bhp!
Improved cooling on an expensive item like this is where I'd be focusing my moula....
Those are some good questions Billy. I can't comment for anybody but myself, as we only use our car for road racing. We went with a separate trans cooler for one reason only. The stock cooler is part of the radiator and we wanted to separate all the hot fluids into their own closed system. In order to separate the trans cooler you have to modify your factory lines, and add an external cooler, which we mounted to the front of our super cooler. The hottest temp we have seen on out dash daq is 170.

As far as the diff cooler I don't have any numbers for that as we are still designing it. The main reason to run a cooler is if you are tracking or auto crossing your car. I can't imagine the average xfire owner would need one. The reasons we will be running one is diff are a lot harder to come by for this car than any of our other cars in our race program. That and for some reason the wavetrac doesn't seem to respond real well to heat. We just got our diff back from wavetrac and they said everything looked fine, but I can tell you that it definitely wasn't working the same as when we first put it in.
