Having sat in a good deal of SLKs, and the Crossfire on a few occasions, the cars are extremely similar. Looking at the interior photographs, it's dead obvious the cars are the same.

Being able to change out the center console with SLK bits cannot be terribly difficult, just time consuming. Take a trip to your local Mercedes-Benz dealer, they're usually incredibly accomodating -- even to tire-kickers and young sprats like myself. For someone who wants to buy expensive OEM parts, I'm sure they'd be more than glad to strike up a conversation with you. Trust me, I've been considering doing the same thing if I bite on the SRT-6.
