Are you the original owner, or do you know what maintenance and or modifications have been done on it? Our cars are now almost 10 years old, so eliminating any recent repairs or general maintanance will help w/ a cyberspace diagnosis. Do you have a check engine light on? Can you get codes read and report them back here. I didn't mean to disregard your question on the intake, but you need to remedy the driveability issue first.
Sounds great! It has 69742 miles and i am the second owner. i received the car when it had 50000 miles on it. it was a clean title and car fax with no repairs. once i had it though i had a head gasket seal loose i believe it was. that was the only repair so far. at the dealership they gave the car a tune up and sealed the left gasket bc it was leaking oil. there were no modifications when i got the vehicle. all i have done so far is add k&n air filters -_- lol yes that all....haha. would like to add more but don't know what or how. or even where to go to get aftermarket parts installed.
