You can not swap -- if you have a Valeo, you must stick with it.
I took my Valeo unit to a reputable local rebuilder -- $285 out the door and no worries about fitment. Just make sure they "clock" the alternator correctly when they reassemble it. Improper clocking may be the reason the unit you bought was advertised as being correct. It is. This alternator also fits other cars, and they require it be clocked differently than the Crossfire.

So, I got what appears to be the correct alternator from 'American Engines Co.'. Apparently the last one they had. But, now I'm wondering about this "clocking" issue. Not exactly sure what that means or if I need to be concerned with it. Guess I'll know in another day, once I get this one installed.
