Do your homework and check the VIN trough CarFax or the VIN checker of your choice. Go ahead and pony up the $30-$40 bucks to see it's history - it may save you thousands in the long run. You might even ask the dealer if they are willing to pull the CarFax for you - worth a shot.

If it checks out clean, offer them $8K and see what happens. Once you start to haggle, you typically can't go lower than your first offer, so that is why I suggest 8K (and I honestly don't think they'll jump on that) Now, in my mind, it is worth the $9,995 they are asking, but if you can get a deal, go for it!

If they won't budge off of their price, you know where you stand.

FYI - I picked mine up for $9,900 and it had 85K miles on it and I thought I got one heck of a deal. You can't touch another sports car with this much HP and these unique looks for that price.
