Re: Help Convincing Dad!!
Explain to him that the car is essentially a Karman built version of the SLK320 Mercedes. One of the safest cars in the world. Unless you are buying the SRT6, it is a rather modest sports car with the acceleration of a Camry.
Our club membership has had numerous examples of serious accidents where the occupants walked away.
The NA Crossfire is not a race car, it is not a good drag strip car it isn't even as fast as a Mustang GT.
It does have five air bags and the coupe has an all metal roof.
Seriously,,,it is a Benz under that slick skin. 100%
We are talking practical and reliable.
And the best bang for the buck you will find.
Mileage is 26 to 28MPG on the highway. There are very few aftermarket products for enhancing HP because there is little market for them.
I am not making stuff up to please your father. Most guys here will attest to what I have posted.
If you have $6,500 in hand you really aren't that far from paying cash for a car worth twice what you put on the table. $8 to $10K will get you a nice one.
That black coupe at 60Kmiles is just broken in. And it is a pretty good deal. But there are many around at that level.
There is a passel of guys here who will help you find one, price it right and tell you how to fix whatever breaks. Stay tuned here on this Forum and stay on mission.
Don't let the old man talk you into a sensible Ford Focus.
BTW, The Crossie isn't that bad in snow. I drive mine daily and we get lots of snow in St Louis.
