I am really concerned with the oil light though. I smelled the exhaust, also when revving, and don't see or smell oil. There are also no oil leaks. Oil problems can be catastrophic. I hope there isn't something major wrong.
The sensor can go wrong and give you a red light. That is the common problem. Replacing the sensor is a pain in the rs but it is a cheaper repair than any other cause. I cannot find where the instructions are to check it with a multimeter though.
