Re: 7th Annual Fall 2013 - Tail of the Dragon GTG - October 4, 5, 6
Finally, I get a chance to get out here and comment.
My first Dragon was incredible! As stated already by others, many thanks to all who planned this event and leaders of each of the runs. The car is a beast more than I ever knew it was and I know I can push it further – just need to get another Dragon under my belt.
Comments:
- Thanks to Nick for meeting me on my trip up to the lodge. He also threw a run in there for fun on the way up, so in a way I had a Thursday evening run! My initiation run?
- Another thanks to Nick for leading Friday to ourExtreme Go Cart fun and avoiding gravel roads and thanks to Nick and Evan for leading the Saturday runs.
)
- I was impressed that Georgia and Tennessee fans sat together to watch the game and were well mannered during the entire game with just a few silent cheers under the table. Very good game by the way. Georgia won that game but did finally lose, but to Missouri, really?
- There was one Bama fan and me (LSU fan), even with no game for us, we were not as well mannered. Lucky for everyone, the Bama and LSU game is later in the year – you know how those Bama fans are.
- I am so glad I invested in new brake lines, fluid, pads, new wheels and tires. Wow did I need them!
- Shawn killed a happy defenseless little squirrel. I guess he is now Squirrel Crusher junior. Great video’s and yes, you are a beast on the road, I was impressed. Nice avatar. HA!
- A few pictures I included -One is of us ordering food at Sonic. As you can see we did not have cars because we parked them at Pizza Hut but changed our minds and ate at Sonic.
- I am convinced that I need to purchase a HERO! Cool vids by everyone. Ozzy – Crazy Train was a nice touch.
- I like what Valk did for the Sunday run where he mapped it out. Nick, do you think you could do that for the Friday and Saturday runs? I am not sure what all we did, lol.
- PizzaGuy – getting that ticket was just bad luck.
Car stuff that I took notice of.
-Max’s car looked great lowered, great wheels, mesh grill and extra clean. I appreciate the information about lowering mine and will reach out to you soonabout putting a plan together.
- BoilerUp – cool rear deck lid spoiler, flat black painted license plate area, body paint on the windshield wiper arm and cowl, and rear diffuser. Great pictures of the car you posted.
- Big Kid – brake kit, wheels, arm pillar gauges, clean engine bay, and hood scoops with drainage (crazy cool).
- Someone (Red Dog maybe?) had a cool arm rest with cup holder.
- Squirrel Crusher – pretty much everything! Awesome creativity and imagination with many of the additions on this car. The hood is just crazy looking, in a good way!
- Thirteendog – cup holder, V8 and exhaust note(deafening in a tunnel as we pass a cop – hysterical!!!).
Tips:
- For newbies, be prepared to be tired at the end of the day. It is a lot to take in especially if you are in the aggressive group. I required a lot of concentration to keep up with Nick and others.
- For an 11 hourish drive, I am glad I arrivedThursday, to give me three days of fun. It was nice breaking up the drive home over two days – Sunday and Monday but mainly I did this due to Karen (Tropical Storm) and the unknown of what she would do to my drive back home which did involve quite a bit of rain that Sunday.
- Might help newbies if the Saturday events areposted on the website after the Friday night get together. With so many choices I was a little confused on what they were and where they were going. This could have just been me though –maybe for Sunday as well. Yeah, I know, I am kind of an agenda guy and you can’t please everyone!
