Default Re: New gearing in my SRT6 - from 3.07 to 3.27 - Success!

That makes perfect sense, as I love my Wavetrac.

Transaxle Final Drive Ratio 2008 PT Cruisers

Engine
Ratio
2.2L Turbo Diesel 3.29
2.4L (Automatic Transmission) Turbo 3.94
2.4L (Convertible) 2.70
2.4L std shift Turbo 3.29
Great info Jim.

A CAI, and a propper gear is all the NA Crossfire ever needed to be competitive.
For the SRT's....it's just down right AWESOM!!
I like it so far, especially on the stree (0-60 MPH), but I'm not convinced the 1/4 mile will be much different.

You've got me on that one, but I'm convinced the 3.27 is the best gearing for a street tire 0-60.

I recall looking at some Dasdaq data and the 3>4 change was just before the 1/4 finished = another gear change.
At the time I questioned - given the ammount of torque we have for the weight - would it be better to go with a shorter diff....say 2.85-2.9
and if your target is 1/4 mile - 2 gear changes instead of 3.
Got me.

Hopefully I can leave it alone and never have to make a choice.
