So back to the updates... I wish it didn't come to this but hey, you gotta pay to play.

100% running friday. Saturday was my birthday. So Saturday my welder was over and we decided to go for a drive. We went to my favorite double hairpin. Well I haven't hit it since everything was running at a full 100% and my second gear drift was good, but for whatever reason decided to snap 3rd for the next hairpin thinking it would hook and stop the drift. Nope, it just kept on sliding but instead of sliding at 50, now we were at around 70 ish. We still made the hairpins but on decel I over-corrected a tad and smacked the curb (insert the biggest facepalm possible)... Note that this is a narrow road, and for all the folk who will say this is reckless, it is very much out of the way of anyone, I would never put others in harm from my stupidity. I have hit this set of turns almost everyday but apparently my mid-range is significantly improved and I should have stayed in second.

Damages didn't seem too bad and price wise they still aren't. Bent a couple tube's and rods here and there. I had spares for most and my welder was able to bend the others back without losing structural integrity so that was all fine. Then we realized the rear camber still looked positive. It took me a full day to finally see it, but the subframe bracket for the control arm is completely bent back and out. Like I said, pricewise we are all good. I already located subframes for $100 ish... The B!*** is that you have to remove damn near everything back there to get the stupid thing out.

Me being the optimist I am though, I am going to cut my springs while I'm down there and lower the back some. Plus I haven't checked anything on that end of the car since I got the sucker so it all works out. Who knows, maybe if I come up with the funds I could get the dif sent out for the wavetrac since it has to be pulled anyway.

More to come on operation albino 5.0
