When upgrading almost any engine the key is balance ... for example the 3.7L M112 has not only larger displacement but larger injectors to compensate for the extra volume of air. Since the injectors where already sized for the 3.7L ... all the ECU had to do was do a little fine tuning and balance out to 1 Lambda. At the moment it's running .960 and .980 (left/right bank) which is nearly perfect (just a tad rich). These engines can compensate for quite a bit in either direction air/fuel. By comparison my tuned 3.2L is running a bit lean with a 1.20-1.60 Lambda.
And I have you to thank for it sk8erjosh ... I've read for years about "everyone" doing the V8 swap and was seconds away from pulling the trigger on a real nice low mileage 113 and ECU after reading your first few posts. But, got to thinking and playing around at work (helps when you have all models of MB's to play with) and realized that the main reason no one as done this swap is because no body really knew these engines existed. With all the high HP SRT's out there you could even do this swap and boost it... as AMG makes forged pistons for this engine.
