If you are referring to stealing the actual drone, I am sure it will be encrypted and GPS tagged, at a minimum.

First off, lighten up. It was a joke. No one NEEDS to snag one. That hardly makes them secure. No one NEEDS the pumkin on my porch, yet every Halloween it disappears.
But let's consider the realistic cons to this concept

For instance, the drone is impersonal and therefore unnaccountable, It has no reason or motivation to place the package descretely or adapt to an unexpected situation. It won't put it inside the door, or realize those dudes on the corner are just waiting for it to drop and leave.

Additionaly, how does it deliver to a housing complex, and aparment building, or a high rise? The kind of structures more and more people are finding they can afford. Especialy young techies that would use the service?

And clearly we need more congestion in the air space, and more for the FAA to manage and regulate.

Thankfully it is a private enterprise looking at the idea, not the Gubmint. So it stands a chance of success. Albeit a small one.

I think perhaps a better approach would be to pursue the transporter technology of Star Trek.

Like I said, lighten up.
