Just this minute spoke to the wife and decided not to put Christmas lights up this year, if we did put them up I would have done exactly the same as you literally a few minutes ago. So as we decided no to lights this year I came in and saw your post and think we made the right decision because clumsy me would have fallen as well and definitely not have got a ladder.
