My first car, in 1960 was a 1939 Ford businessman's Coupe. We brought it home in much the same condition as your picture in post #3.
I was 13 at the time.
I spent two years learning how to work on every part of that car and rebuilding it. We had a donor car for parts.
Because of the war, a '47 thru '51 Chrysler was nearly the same as a 1940 model. Under the skin, so was a late forties Ford much the same as a '39. That made it easy. So did the fact that back then things were built to be repaired and last. Some Bakelite parts, but virtually no plastics.
You are looking very good on that Chrysler Sedan.
