280 HP is quite do able on the NA Crossie. Needswings CAI, performance tune from Eurocharged. Throttlebody upgrade. Minor exhaust mods.

If you want to drag, follow firemax+'s advice get rid of the tall gears.

If you insist on an engine swap, go the 55 V/8 conversion.
Valk had his tuned and put it on a dyno and this is what he got.
Something is not right here. He has the tune, he has the CAI, he has the larger throttle body I'm sure. He is missing maybe 3-4 HP from the super duper exhaust. What is missing?
I think maybe you mean 187 HP at the wheels is possible. Senior moment? We all get them, even me. LOL
