Another Damned InterCooler Inquiry
The main thing I've noted since purchasing my SRT6 (which came with exceptional Chrysler Dealer mtc records and a clean CarFax), is that SOMETIMES - NOT EVERY TIME when I try to "punch" it - usually to overcome a slower vehicle on the freeway, or to merge in time - there isn't a really hearty surge forward. I'd think this bad **** would get up and MOVE when I gave it a good amount of gas every single time. To be honest, it actually surges forward best when I give it just a tiny bit of gas while I'm already at a higher speed.
Still... that sized engine should ROAR forward every single time I give it a good bit of gas at 30MPH, no? It's part of the reason I bought the thing. Instead, sometimes it simply begins to pick up speed as if I'm bombing around in some old K car... that OR an almost comical-feeling overdrive kicks in as I slowly pick up speed (this especially going up a not-so-steep hill by my home). This engine is capable of far more than this, I am sure. I mean, my 6-cylinder Saturn Aura with 247hp has more consistent get up and go than this SRT6. When it's on, it's a beast, but when it's not, it's downright embarrassing. **I merged ahead of someone in an old minivan once after first getting it, with plenty of room, and almost got rear-ended as it caught up to me before I could get it up to speed!**
Any ideas? Having felt it was a pressure pump issue, I found this forum and noticed the ICP was a common theme. As my SRT6 has 23K on it, I feel this is the issue. Sounds similar to what others have noticed.
I've got the OEM replacement from Needswings, and am about to install it (finally!!). I'm REALLY hoping this is the issue. That said, has anyone experienced anything remotely like this in their SRT6? If so, what did it end up being.
