Default Re: Anyone ever put a small block 360 with a 904 trans in a crossfire?

Well, it crossed my mind to strip one down to bare bones and put my JUNK Chevy drive train in there. But, after you see the ton of wiring to pull and a gutted dash, door panels, it brings back memories of building pro stocks working for Norm Paddock who now lives near Don Garlits as well, lol. You end up building a whole new chassis, and only use the panels from the XF. A lot of metal work to bring it altogether. You could drive it stripped if just for the track. But to put down any real power, a tubed chassis, and just the shell of the XF would net you a pretty light gasser. Definitely a wheel stander... It had crossed my mind to do a project like that, then I woke up from that dream and came to my senses. I can buy just about any drag car out there a lot cheaper and whatever power I want. Good luck kid...hopefully Dad will wake up from his dream as well. Look on the back pages of your NHRA magazine. Plenty of drag cars to buy. A whole hell of a lot less work.
