Unfortunately my father in-law passed away on Thursday and today was the funeral in Ajax. Its gridlock throughout the GTA with continued power outages, no traffic lights, trees down, many areas of the city still in darkness. Took us three hours to get home with dry roads, sunny skies and no snow.......complete gridlock. Crackhead Ford really does need to declare a state of emergency down there. Temps are going to drop tonight to -10C.
Thanks for the thought, we survived - just.
The ice took down a tree at the end of the street, which took down another tree which took the top of the Hydro pole which took out a ground wire(?). They powered up the wires at one point and that blew three transformers. I got this third hand and it makes a bit of sense to me, maybe not you though.
There are a lot of downed trees around, branches mostly. I am told the old part of Brampton was severely hit with a lot of old growth trees down.
