Default Re: gas prices are ridiculous...

I'm seeing very high 2's here in Central Florida, I've even seen a few at just over $3. When you drive past the car lots and the dealers are lining up the big SUV's and full size trucks, it's no wonder we have to depend on the world for our oil. They push these land whales that get 13-15 a gal on a good day, like it's the only thing they have to sell. I can't believe that in this day and age that every dealer doesn't have at least one car that gets over 40 MPG. I was going to sell my Jetta TDI now that I have my Crossfire, but I'm planning on keeping it to use as my daily driver and taxi for the kids to go to school in. I believe that until the car companies start providing us with more diesels, the dependency on foreign oil will only increase. I know we are a country of excess, but if you can't afford the gas for those over sized monsters, buy something more manageable and quit you crying about dropping $80-90 for a tank of gas. This isn't meant to be directed towards anyone on the site, just my personal thoughts and a short rant.
