i think having a second car can make the lease more convenient from the perspective of getting the best value from the lease. it seems that many people either overshoot their mileage limitation, and pay additional or have to buy the vehicle, or drive considerably less than the limit, and pay for something that they didn't use. my father is quite frugal and he returned the only vehicle he ever leased with about 2 miles under the limit. but he also had the advantage of a second vehicle in the family that was not leased to take up the slack.
