It's coated with rubberized paint. It's very robust. I used double-side tape along the bottom. Using the tape and the metal tab on the side that fits up under the side panel of the car this is VERY solid setup. It won't roll or even wiggle around. It's important to note that to install this you do not need to uninstall any panels.
