Default Brake Wear Sensor

I just replaced the front pads on my 2004 Coupe. I did it because the wear sensor on dash kept illuminating more and more, and sometimes would even stay on when I didn't even have the brake pressed down.

After installing the new brakes, I noticed that the front passenger side wear sensor was a bit off. On the driver side, it looked fine(Although I did it in the dark). On the passenger side, however, the little nipple/cyllinder that slips down into the brake pad looked like it had been rubbing on something. It was bent to the side slightly, and the end of it was flat instead of rounded with the wire inside exposed. I went ahead and just installed it back in, and after driving it for a few days, the sensor hasn't come back on.

One of the odd things that I noticed was that the pads that were on the car still had about 1/4 inch worth of pad left. So I'm wondering if that worn wire caused the sensor to go off before the pads were actually worn. Either way though, I wanted to change the pads. They were giving off TONS of dust. I think they may have been the original pads on the car, as it only has 27k miles.

Can anyone tell me the part number for the wear sensor? And if it would be okay to just replaced the one that had the worn spot and leave the other one on?
