Paper vs Fleece Oil Filter
Hello Everyone. I bought my car in February, and have driven it about 5.5k miles since then. I figured it's time for an oil change since I'm getting new tires/brakes installed anyway. I went to WalMart and got two 5 quart jugs of Mobil 1 0w40 synthetic for $25.17 each, and then went to O'Reilys and got a Wix 51226 paper oil filter.
After calling around a few places to get some estimates on some labor-only oil changes, I was really surprised to find out that the local Chrysler dealer will do it for $13 compared to the $20 at the tire place, and $40 at a local European car repair shop.
My concern however is that after doing some research, I see that alot of people prefer the Wix 57078 filter because it's fleece instead of paper. Should I be concerned about putting the paper filter in to the car? I only drive around 6k miles a year, and don't do any kind of track racing (except for the occasional 100mph run on the freeway when I get antsy).
