Default Nv3550

Does anyone know if the close ratio NV3550 is a bolt in replacement for the NSG370. In a Wrangler it is supposed to be a "bolt in replacement" and the ratios look much better suited to street driving.

First thing people will ask is "why" ? Particularly go from a 6 speed to a 5. Answer is simple, ratios: 3.49 2.16 1.40 1.00 0.73 version. The stock 6spd is : 4.46 2.61 1.72 1.25 1.00 0.84

In real life I use first only in the driveway and in malls while 6th is a buzzing 2600 rpm at 70. A .73 would drop to 2250, still high but not as bad.

(Close Ratio is Dodge code DDC also used by GM order code M50)

Also NV3550 transmissions are relatively plentiful/cheap unlike a 2:60:1 rear gear.

But before doing something stupid thought I'd ask has anyone had tried it ?
