Default Re: BEGi Turbo Kit information/discussion thread

See below for Corky's reply.

I emailed back giving them till the end of March (Hey. I already waited two years what the heck!).
I don't blame, hate or hold bad feelings, just disapointed that this doesn't appear to be our answer to our turbo quest for the NA. Maybe out of all of this a kit might happen.

"You are quite correct. Two years is absurd.
Agreed, we were eager to get into the job and create a nifty new product.

A couple problems cropped up:
I did not expect the extraordinary business slump that set in at the same time. Earning the needed $30/40K necessary to create the CF turbo went away with the slump.
I agreed with the CF community to configure the CF turbo to be available for under $4k. After three major iterations of the system, I still cannot find a way to offer the system at that price.
A 100% change in fabricators and mechanics has occurred since we began.
We did not get the support of enough CF owners to get the job done. I made the dumb decision to pursue it anyway.

Situation today:
I have less than half a day’s work to finish the construction of the third layout. A few more days to tune it out and it’s done.
The actual value in parts and labor I have spent on the project is now past $30k. I suspect that is more than you have invested in the CF.

I’d like to suggest an alternative:
Although I remain unable to acquire a partner and enjoy having the cash to finish the job, It is scheduled for our best attention in three weeks. I have acquired two new fabricators and we are rapidly catching up on a sizeable backlog.
That is a “first for the last several years.
I can’t get out of here for even a few days for the next month, or so.
I may as well deliver it with turbo rather than without as the price and time are the same.
I will return the deposits we have for CF kits, as it is certainly not an economically viable system to try taking to market.

My apologies for the way it is. I certainly did not intend it, even if the decision to proceed with the program was possibly the dumbest one I’ve ever made.

The CF has been kept clean and has not acquired any damage while here. Prior to any delivery of a vehicle, we spend considerable effort detailing the cosmetics. We will certainly do the same for yours.

Regards,

Corky"
