Which did you use as a donner engine? The ML or the S? I understand there are some differences in the front of these engines which affect how easy it is to mount up the accessories, etc. Thanks

Curious though, what materials were upgraded? I have yet to see a different part # between the '03 500 and '04 320 engine's...

Also, what would be different between the S and ML 3.7's for accessory mounting?
I used the 3.7L out of an '04 ML ... as far as the accessories go the ML has a different tensioner pulley and I believe one or two other pulleys are a different size as well. I just swapped over all accessories and pulleys from the donor Crossfire engine... if you were to look at the stock Crossfire 3.2L to the ML 3.7L after I swapped all the accessories and wiring harness over you would not be able to tell them apart.... the look identical.

As far as the material upgrades go.... basically MB found that too many people were still using dino oil in there new engines and a lot of the small oil passages were getting clogged with sludge as people were going 7-10k between oil changes on dino oil... as well as a few other things like the crank shaft seals going bad prematurely, etc.
