I have an '04 and will be looking at it this weekend or sooner if time permits and will report back findings, as I'd rather address it now than in a parking lot somewhere! Hopefully I won't have to take anything out as the fix suggests, I assume if I don't have the "door" that we smash to remove pin/spring my unit is gtg. I know this isn't definitive of model year/ production changes but it may help us narrow it down.
