The clips are metal, so you won't break them. I used a plastic pry bar and got under the edge then just walked down the rest with my hand. I did have the plastic seperate completely from some of the metal clips since it is just 3m body tape holding them on, I just cleaned and prepped where the old tape was and replaced it, should be good for another 10 years

On the side pieces, you can literally just grab them and pull, you will pull harder than you think, but keep in mind, those clips have been in the same metal for years...
