My issue is that the hazard lights aren't working at all. When I press the hazard button there's no sound, no flashing, nothing. The indicators (flashers) are working fine and all the relevant lights flash when I lock / unlock the car.

I suspect it might be a relay issue but I honestly have no clue about it. All of the information I can find relates to the hazards working but the flashers not working so I'm a little stumped. I left it in to a garage to get the trunk fixed up as I had the stuck trunk issue but the mechanic doesn't want to go digging around behind the centre console and hazard control module apparently due to the location of an airbag / airbag sensor (?).

Has anybody experienced this issue before, or would any of you be able to offer any insight as to what the issue might be?

I should also mention that I have a '97 SLK 230 that I can cannibalise for hazard module parts if they'd fit, so if that's an option I'll gladly go for it.

Would hugely appreciate any responses, thanks guys!
From the 2004 Crossfire Service Manual.

HAZARD FLASHER
DESCRIPTION
The hazard flasher (1) is integrated within the hazard switch
assembly (2) and cannot be adjusted or repaired. If faulty,
worn, or damaged, the entire hazard switch assembly must be
replaced. For complete hazard switch removal procedures, see
hazard switch removal in this section. Refer to Page 8L-100

If fuse 35 was blown other things would not work either.
