Acceleration Issues
My wife and i were out cruising the other day, and i hit the gas to pass some semi's. I noticed that after the high RPMs that pressing on the pedal did very little to nothing at all. It was pretty scary, and kind of exciting at the same time. We pulled off the freeway to see if it was just the speed that we were going that caused it. After coming to a complete stop (and making sure traffic was clear) we attempted to leave the stop sign... with no success in that department. When the accelerator did finally 'catch' we left the area and stopped at a gas station; turned the car off and figured maybe it might be a fuel issue. After fueling up and starting on our way the car accelerated as it would normally. So, from trial and error, we know that if we have that issue to pull over and shut the car off, then turn it back on; until we can have it looked at.
Is there any tips, comments, or any other kind of help that could help us figure out the problem faster and be able to tell our mechanic, so it doesn't end up costing my other arm and leg...
