When I had my add-on garage built, I kinda went overboard on the lighting.
It has a suspended vinyl siding type ceiling, I put 6 ( yes SIX ) recessed 4 bulb each fluorescent fixtures in.
24 X 40 watts = 960 total watts evenly distributed.
