Re: Car Alarm Not Deactivating and No Start-Help!
Currently, or previously? What was the fault? My mechanic told me when he worked on the ingition lock fix last week he said the car needed a jump to start, and then when he was done it needed to be jumped again. I told him he sould have just replaced the battery since I have no idea how old the battery even is. He says low battery or voltage dips can screw up the alarm systems and then they need to be reset or at least re-powered up. The car behaves according to him, as though it "thinks it is being stolen" and he suspects that the anti theft system cuts power to the ingition and also cuts power to the starter motor. We tried both keys and neither one will remotely operate the door locks or alarm system. No flashing lights, no response. However when you open the door the alarm goes off and when you insert the key and turn it to start the idiot lights on the dash come on.
Anyone experience this problem and have it repaired? What was the cause????
