This may be a bit far out, but if you can gain access to an oscilloscope, it might be interesting to probe pin 3 and pin 1 of each coil pack to compare signals. If they all look the same, then the PTCM can mostly be eliminated.
You could do the same with pin 2 of all the injectors.
