I ran a 14.8 @93.7 mph!
Considering it was my first time down the track in a stick car I was pretty happy. The one thing you have to get used to is when your staging, the car sometimes rolls back and turns off a pair of the bulbs, thus throwing off your concentration a bit. I say this because my reaction time wasn't as good as it used to be, I cut a .117 for the best of day where a .000 is perfect and I even red lighted one time too, -.010.
The temp was about 65 once I got there, but by the end of the day, it dropped some, the clouds came in along with some wind. My 60 times weren't that good IMO, anywhere from 2.1's to 2.4's when I dumped the clutch at 3,500 rpm. I got my best passes when I dumped it at 2,000 rpm and the 60's showed in the 2.1's. My only mod is the Magnaflow muffler, so I can't complain, although I thought the mph would be a bit better. In this car its all about the gearing. I had a mid 90's Mustang GT next to me and was runnin' 14.3-14.4's all day, but only trapped 95 or so where I was runnin' 14.8-15.1's most of the time. For the record, I ran 14.8 twice, 14.9 twice and a couple runs 15.0-15.1 and the couple times it was higher was because I launched it too hard and another time when I had a passenger in the car with me. My car is a lease so I'm not going to put any more money into for mods, but if I were keeping it, I'd get the Absolute chip, K&N's or custom intake and for sure get true duals to get it down into the mid 14's.
