It's your cars, do as you wish...I won't. Racing full time is one thing, but mine are driven to shows all over the Midwest and I want a good filtration system that still gives me the performance. We proved long ago the old velocity stacks, open filters, were actually robbing us of power rather than letting in more air to produce more HP. A high performance filter will accomplish the same goals and still provide protection from the elements. I ran a lot of open carbs in my day thinking I was making HP, and sucking in who knows what into to those motors. I got old and wiser. Well I got old and computers and dynos made me wiser....
