Value is in the eye of the purchaser. Not sure you can say they are asking too much. With only 30K, I think it's an appropriate starting range for a sale. If the car wasn't driven in the winter, was garaged, records, excellent condition, etc. etc. then I'd say this is a decent price. I have an 04 with an auto, only 31K miles, garage kept etc. etc. and I'd think I'd be asking something similar, but mine is an auto so it would general be valued a little higher than a stick. I may not get it, but I wouldn't be selling it for much less than $10K either. I know value indicators are all over the place, with a private party sale likely somewhere in the mid to high 8K's.
