That does seem to be the case, unlike most FI systems, and by most I mean 90%. The pressure regulators I've seen are always separate and sometimes expensive, a part that would be unusual to replace in less than 100k miles if ever . I've never had to replace a pressure regulator on any Ford, Toyota, Audi, or any other car I've owned. It's more like a glorified anti-drain back system but I guess it works, and it's cheap. Not a lot of imagination needed for the engineer who came up with that system (in the early 90s), who seems to have to told to design "some thing cheap that we already use". Why replace a part that is still fully functional?
