Aren't you a bit concerned that the IAT will be seeing ( and telling the PTCM ) much cooler air at the front than what the temperature really is at the throttle body ( as MB intended ).
Probably not a concern after all, I know the C320 has the IAT/MAF sensor toward the front ( see the cut-out in your engine cover ), but I always thought that there was perhaps a different PTCM map to compensate for that on them.
What do I know ? Carry on like I said nothing and you will most likely be OK
