The rear end had a humming type of noise at steady highway speed that went away whenever you slowed down or sped up. Changed out the entire rear end and everything is fine. No grinding noise.

Ha ha... some day I ought to post everything that was worked on in my car, but then I would be called the village idiot for having kept the car and not getting rid of it.
