If caught the wrong plates they can take you to jail and/or impound car. Without plates $75 fine. Check online with state laws or talk to a police
officer. In Illinoins and Missouri if you have the dated title or bill of sale they give you 24-48 hrs to get it home to get plates. Last vehicle I bought out of state I bought the plates and had them in hand before I went to pick it up.
Ok so i called the troopers barracks in jersey and they said that I would be arrested and the car would be impounded for no plates....wtf...so i have to drive 3 hours to look at the car..then 3 hours back to get it registered then 3 hrs back to pick it up and then 3 hours home...Holy **** I might as well have it shipped to me...the problem is I wanna see if it's the car that I want...if it has **** wrong with it I don't want it...(ie major scuffs,alot of rock chips cracked leather)u can only tell so much from pics...I need to be up in there to give it a full retina inspection!
