Thanks for the reply. I'll look at that after work.
The "oil" is not what I would expect. It's thin and more like "carbon soot water" than oil because it's not slippery between my fingers. It's hard to explain.
The engine dieing and "oil/carbon soot water" showed up at the same time but I haven't looked at my exhaust pipe closely in a while. I suspect they are related. I do wonder if the dark discharge from the exhaust is related to the sleet/snow weather I was driving in the day the car shut off.
If it's not the relay control board, I'll have to take it in to a shop for repair. Before that I plan on getting the codes from the computer at the local auto parts store. At least that way I'll know what it could be going to the garage.
