If it's the SKREEM then the car will try and start three times and then not even try to start. I mean it will turn over (crank) and fire three times and then not fire up at all. Disconnecting the battery for a while will start that cycle all over again.
You may have the CPS problem, the three crank/fire up scenario is the SKREEM though.
