Re: Do you ever feel cheap with your crossfire?
It's one of the biggest deal out there for the Crossfire!
We can't blame that some of the owners felt disheartening with the low giveaway prices now for brand new Crossfire leftovers.
When it was launched in late 2003, they bought their Crossfires for 35k and more thinking that what they are paying at that price is for the prestige and luxury of owning a concept European made car. It was supposed to be that way until DC figured out that they are not making any sales on the crossfires.
Those that paid 35k or more felt betrayed by DC when DC starts selling it low. If those original crossfire buyers only bought theirs for the price of what we have now, I think there won't be any hard feelings of betrayal that these cars will be sold also to a different economic group of buyers.
I think that bringing the price down too fast for just 2 years ain't fair for those that paid more than 30k for the crossfire. Because what they are seeing is not what they expected for the crossfire to happen in the hands of some of the new owners.
If a brand new Porsche Boxster is sold for 20k and seen slapped with all those ricer stuff...I think it'll hurt the feelings also to those that bought theirs MSRP.
If I have known this is the fate of the Crossfire when I bought mine in 2004, I should have just bought an SRT-6 or a Lotus Elise which is a more legit exotic than the crossfire for 10 more grand. I thought that the crossfire can get me up higher in the social level where I can now afford. A 350k house and a crossfire was a good match then when I bought it!
But I love my Crossfire and nothing can change that feeling since when I first saw it. Those that don't wash their crossfires will just drool how mine still looks good after 2 years of owning!
