Default Automatic shifter assembly problem or is it the transmission connector plate

I'm having an intermittent problem that shows up in the shifter assembly on my SRT6 rescue roadster . . . The transmission seems to work properly but occasionally the shifter assembly locks up and will not go back into park. It will move only between Drive & Neutral but will not move beyond the neutral position (acts like it is electronically locked just as if it was in park with the electronic lock on). The only way to get it back into park is to turn off the ignition . . . then it "unlocks" and will go back up into park. BUT doing that sometimes causes the check engine light to come on throws codes P0705 (P0705 is Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction) & P0715 (P0715 is Turbine/Input Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit) and that puts the car into limp mode! I know the issue is electronic somewhere and not a mechanical issue with the shifter assembly itself.

I was at first thinking that I needed to replace the shifter assembly but now I'm thinking the problem is elsewhere. As I said it seems to be an electronic issue. That code P0715 has led some to replace the transmission conductor plate. Would problems with the conductor plate cause my symptoms??

Any thoughts on where the issue actually is and what I should try?? THANKS for sharing your experience and expertise . . .
