I asked the Service Manager to look into it and let me know if anything has changed on this part. He checked the part numbers on the original part and the VIN number with DC and was told that it was the correct part and color code.
My wife even noticed that the new part was shinier and I didn't say anything about it to her (so it's not my imagination).

i'm dealing w/ the same issue. the parts department is making quite a few phone calls to the outsourced parts supplier.
i had the center console replaced and it is only currently available in the matte finish ('05) as a replacement part. the silver parts in front of the console area only come in the gloss finish ('04). my guess is two different suppliers.
the dealer has ordered the upper console pieces twice... and they keep coming in the gloss finishes. there is only one part number per piece... no separate part number for the different finish (matte or gloss). the dealer stated he would give me a call this week with his findings. he is asking the supplier to pull in stock pieces to find the possibility of a matte color.
