I think they are talking about cars that have a separate lever under the **** that you have to pull up with your fingers before shifting into reverse. If the **** had a long collar below it, it could interfere with the operation of the lockout lever. This doesn't apply to our cars where you pull up on the whole **** to shift into reverse.
Thanks Plunkett. I thought we had to use "reverse" or "s" type shifters only. That opens the door to many different options. Hmmm
