Found out I have a dead battery today. The strangest thing happened when I pulled the battery. While I was disconnecting it, the alarm went off...it continued going off after the battery was totally disconnected. No battery power and the alarm continued to sound for what seemed like 5 minutes. So apparently the alarm system has a built-in power source?
